Barzona is a composite breed comprised of Angus, Herford , Santa Gertrudis & Africander in relatively equal amounts. Bred for wild grazing, heat/insect tolerance, strong feet & legs, mothering ability and carcass quality. Bred to make cows match the environment of the southwest. The only breed developed through the dam line rather than the sire and based solely on performance.
